Butterfly and Ant |
This afternoon I made an ant from recycling materials such as eggs tray, and roll tissue. It's one kind of creative learning. We can teach our children any knowledge by this method. For examples from the ant that I've made. We can teach about:
- an animal / an insect
- part of the insect which are head, thorax, and abdomen
- how many legs it's has, how many eyes, how many antennas
- what kind of food it eat
- fine motoric skills
- colours
- shapes
- how to recycling the materials
- how to use scissors
- creativities
- learning about process making something
- etc
Making thing together with children has a lot of advantages. It can also rise bond between parent and their children, create a quality time in a family.
Now I want to show you how to make an ant with very simple method and very cheap materials. Lynne teached us in Keeping Up with The Kids class. Here it is:
What you need:
- scissors
- tape
- pen
Materials:
- eggs tray, just take two eggs' holes
- colourful papers
How to make:
- Take a paper, crush it and shape into a ball shape as head of the ant.
- Draw eyes and mouth
- Put the head in the one side of the tray, tape it
- Cut 6 long shapes as ant's leg, fold it in and out
- Tape in the right and the left side of the tray
- Make 2 long shapes as the antennas and stick on it's head
- The ant is ready to play
You can use another material to make the antennas, I made it from string. You can also put wobbly eyes instead of drawing it. And create many kinds of expression on it's face, a happy face, a funny face, a sad face, etc. It would be more interesting, isn't it?

Surat Al-Lail (Malam) ayat 1-5
- Demi malam apabila menutupi (cahaya siang),
- demi siang apabila terang benderang,
- demi penciptaan laki-laki dan perempuan,
- sungguh, usahamu memang beraneka macam.
- Maka barangsiapa memberikan (hartanya di jalan Allah) dan bertakwa,
